Abstract :
A broadband CMOS programmable gain amplifier (PGA) with precise gain control is presented. The PGA is implemented with two-stage gain control architecture. The measured gain error achieves less than 0.08dB in a gain variable range of 24dB with a 600MHz -3dB bandwidth. The IIP3 are 22.8dBm and 0.84dBm for minimum and maximum gain respectively. Fabricated in 0.13μm CMOS process, the active area is 1mm ×0.3mm, and the current consumption is 13.5mA at 1.2V supply.
