Title :
Microwave power generation at 9 GHz using hybrid microwave integrated circuits
Author :
Vincent, Britton Thomas, Jr.
Abstract :
In the first paper of this session, Tom Hyltin has given an overview of the MERA program at Texas Instruments which was initiated by a contract from the U.S. Air Force, WPAFB, Ohio. In this paper reviewed some of the problems and solutions on this early effort in integrating the microwave circuitry required to build small T-R modules at 9 GHz which would be useable in phased array radar. The focus is on the transmit power stages (transistor amplifier and frequency multiplier) as this area required a special emphasis on the power output and efficiency for the T-R module.
