Abstract :
Marine research is a multidisciplinary science. The specific requirements of the client dictate the design and construction of a marine research vessel. The delivery of 46 marine research vessels, in the last 35 years has given Oy Laivateollisuus Ab an expertise in the "tailor" designing series marine research vessels to specific differing marine research requirements. The experience of customizing these vessels has proven to be an effective method of optimizing both series and multipurpose marine research vessel projects.
