Abstract
Summary form only given. Describes how the apparently radically novel subjects of H∞-control and estimation that have gathered so much attention in the last decade can be fitted into the now-classical Wiener and Kalman setting by making a simple change in the basic framework, but one with deep consequences: working in a particular kind of indefinite metric space (Krein space) rather than in Hilbert space
