Abstract :
Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a method for stimulating neurons by an induction of eddy current in the brain (Ueno et al., 1990 and Sekino and Ueno, 2004). TMS of the cerebellum is carried out for basic studies of motor functions, and for potential therapeutic applications. However, the threshold for stimulating neurons in the cerebellum and localization of the eddy current are not clear. In this study, we obtained the eddy current distributions in the cerebellum using numerical simulations.
