Abstract :
In a deregulated electricity distribution the network business and energy business are separated from each other. Free competition exists in the energy business but the network business will still at least temporarily remain monopolistic and regulated by a government authority (“regulator”). An essential feature of the transfer tariff in distribution networks is that it is independent of the distance. This development has taken place e.g. in Norway, Finland and Sweden and it has created new challenges also for planning and documentation. Also transmission networks are now open for any trader
