Abstract
The paper studies the bifurcations of limit cycles of feedback systems depending on a parameter, and uses the harmonic balance method in a suitable frequency band to derive simplified conditions for their existence. These conditions give a picture of every kind of such (generic) bifurcations and can be applied to synthesize in a simple way nonlinear systems exhibiting specific attractors of given characteristics. An example is developed showing the application of the proposed method and the good approximation of the obtained results
