  • Abstract
A wavelet coding method available in hardware design is discussed in this passage. So far, wavelet coding has used in many fields, but a lot of arithmetic occupy much memory, which make speed of hardware running slower. Through the method of this passage, the memory can be reduced in the arithmetic in the process coding and coding efficiency can be increasingly improved. The method establishes memory optimization structure according to the analysis of zero-tree wavelet coder and set partitioned embedded block. Makes use of advantages of search bases on maximal absolute value bit-length to establishes block bit-length chart. Blocks independent code and uses scan output for one time merely. Experimental results have shown that: with the comparison of other arithmetic, the arithmetic of this message increases the coding speed effectively, shortens the time of program execution, meanwhile, it can keep the high quality of power signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR). It has great significance in hardware design for wavelet coding.
