Abstract :
Conceptual design of a fully solid state power supply system for 1000s ON/ 5000s OFF long pulse operation of a neutral beam injector is presented. A switched power supply with solid state crowbar is used for regulated HV power. A 400 Hz, 24 phase filament power supply is used in an integrated closed loop control with the 24 buck type arc power supplies. Temperature of each filament is controllable independent of each other. An air core transformer with a secondary RC load is used for passive snubber of the grid circuit. A power supply control system supervises the interlock, protection and safety system
