Abstract :
The paper deals with the analysis of bypass operation of thyristor converters; in particular the transition from normal to bypass operation and vice-versa is investigated in order to evaluate the maximum current unbalance between the converter subunits, to locate the conditions which zero unbalance corresponds to and to derive the implications on the control system design
