Abstract :
Summary form only given. In summary, a high-speed polarization insensitive broadband 1×8 LiNbO3 fiber-optic switch module with gain has been demonstrated. It has an insertion gain of -4 dB, a polarization sensitivity of 0.2 dB and a good output uniformity. The fiber-optic switch is expected to have a switching time of subnanosecond when the traveling-wave electrodes with adequate impedance and velocity match are optimized for the Mach Zehnder switching elements.
