Abstract :
This paper investigates write pole erase and neighbor track erase dependencies on -perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR) head/media combinations including their recording performances. Three types of media samples and two kinds of PMR heads were studied. Media samples have almost same magnetic properties except different SUL types. PMR head samples are SPT type with beveled write pole and have different width of upper shield and return pole yoke.
