Voltage control in medium-voltage distribution networks

Voltage control becomes increasingly important in medium-voltage distribution networks. A new tool to optimise voltage control in the medium-voltage distribution network and thus enable utilities to obtain, maintain and guarantee systematically an optimal quality of supply has been developed. This paper describes both the methodology to optimise voltage control and the experiences at MEGA Limburg, a regional utility in the Netherlands, which applies this tool in network planning practice
