Abstract :
In this paper reports, the magnetisation reversal in ultra-fine elongated metal particles is incoherent. The six metal particle tapes with TEM imaging and magnetic measurement is studied. The activation volume of reversal (Vact) and the physical particle volume (Vphys ) have been determined to establish how the size and geometry of the particles affects the magnetisation reversal. Vact is defined as the smallest volume that reverses coherently. The particles have uniaxial shape anisotropy, which gives them a high coercivity.
