Abstract :
A novel over modulation methodology for dual bridge matrix converter (MC) is first put forward in this paper. Based on amplitude control of the rectifier side and inverter side, an over modulation methodology is presented. First the rectifier side is separated into six intervals to get the maximum DC voltage, and then a novel over modulation strategy is invented for the inverter side, which can manage the magnitude modulation index from 0.955 to 1.05. The new methodology shows a very good linearity and is simple to apply. Theoretical analysis and experimental results show that the over modulation methodology proposed here is feasible and liable.
