Supply quality in planning of MV networks

Improving the daily quality of delivery and gaining control over large scale failures that occur on the network, while mastering investment costs, are two key sectors of the quality policy of EDF for the period 1995-2005. As medium voltage networks play an extremely important role in electricity supply, it appeared essential to develop a planning tool enabling the operator to make strategic choice on investments, that takes into account the above-mentioned quality policy. Of course, this decision making aid should be able to perform electrical calculations as well. Designed for Windows, PRAO 2.0 software can fulfil this need. Today it constitutes both the reference software tool in EDF for MV network studies and the cornerstone for its international proposal
