Abstract
This study investigates the specific heat of MnFeP0.45As0.55 compound, with special emphasis on the behavior near the phase transition temperature. For comparison of the transition temperature and the magnetic-entropy change, ac susceptibility and dc magnetization measurements were made on the same sample. The transition temperature and the latent heat of the transition have been determined. The results obtained from the specific-heat measurements, such as TC and magnetic-entropy change, are consistent with those obtained from the magnetization measurements.
