Abstract :
Recent debates about measurement equivalence would have been simplified by a satisfactory quantification of equivalence. We describe a rigorous yet simple method of using measurement comparisons to quantify equivalence statements. It is able to treat all aspects of the ISO Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement as they apply to measurement comparisons. We compare this method to the common usage of the normalized error.
