            Abstract : 
The international recognition of national measurement standards and calibration certificates issued by different National Metrology Institutes can be tested by inter-laboratory comparisons backed by a defined statistical model. However, such comparisons cannot rigorously prove equivalence and must, therefore, be supplemented by additional methods of establishing mutual confidence.
