Abstract :
A phase standard, consisting of clock coupled phase generator and phase meter, is proposed. Phase generator is build around two direct digital synthesizers. Phase meter incorporates a single a/d converter and a floating point. A novel approach uses a/d converter in successive sampling of two signals and compensating for an introduced phase shift by taking into account a time interval between two sampling bursts.
