Abstract :
Combination and simplification are often adopted as the solution to the problem of there are lots of the Crack group, Pore group and Inclusion group in the components especially in welded joints. In this study, simplifications were simulated with CAE software. The comparison results dedicates that the Stress Intensity Factors (SIF) obtained after simplification were greater than the primary. Therefore, a greater safety margin of the component would be attained if the simplified results were used in the assessment.
