Abstract :
An accurate and computationally cheap antenna modeling technique is presented. Our methodology is a two-stage approach. In the first step, a Cauchy-approximation model is created using the full-wave simulation data of the coarsely-discretized antenna structure. This model is further corrected using space mapping and a limited number of high-fidelity antenna simulations. We demonstrate that our approach allows us to obtain the modeling accuracy comparable to that provided by direct Cauchy approximation of the high-fidelity EM simulation data, however, at much smaller computational cost. Therefore, the presented technique is suitable to create ad hoc models that can be used in antenna design tasks such as parametric design optimization. Application examples are given.
