Abstract :
Summary form only given. In recent years, there has been a rapid progress in the field of optical pulse characterization. Techniques such as frequency-resolved optical gating (FROG) and spectral interferometry for direct electric field reconstruction (SPIDER) allow for a full characterization of amplitude and phase of a pulse. In this paper we describe the use of the SPIDER technique to perform a spatially resolved full characterization of sub-10 fs pulses from a Kerr-lens mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser.
