Abstract :
We report on efficient frequency doubling of a diode laser near 633 nm using a rubidium dihydrogen phosphate crystal in a resonant cavity, with 30 /spl mu/W of output power. Stabilization of the pump laser to the Doppler-free spectrum of iodine at 633 nm provides a possibility for a stable frequency standard at 317 nm.
