Abstract :
Several new results of soft feedback equalization (SFE) algorithm are presented: an interpretation of its different performance on different recording channels, a more comprehensive study of its performance over longitudinal channels, especially channels with jitter noise and the fact that there is a potential performance gain by lowering the coding rate for jitter dominant channels.
