Abstract :
In this paper, we describe a single key stream cipher system based on one dimensional cellular automata random number generator with evolution. The robustness of the scheme against cryptanalytic attacks is discussed and it is shown that cryptanalysis requires an exponentially growing amount of computational resources. Also a simple avalanche effect analysis is given to assess the cryptographic strength of the cipher.
