Abstract :
In this article a parallel and non-conformal Interior Penalty Discontinuous Galerkin (IPDG) method is presented to solve time domain Maxwell´s equations. The computational domain is decomposed into non-overlapping sub-domains. Each sub-domain is meshed independently providing great flexibility in the meshing process. The non-conformal triangulations at sub-domain interfaces are naturally supported by IPDG. An upwind flux is used in IPDG, to provide for optimal convergence rates. Moreover a MPI parallelization along with a local time-stepping strategy is applied to significantly increase the efficiency of the method.
