Abstract :
The manufacturing tolerances of the structural parameters of the hydrodynamic journal bearing system are inevitable. This paper presents a theoretical analysis of the effects of the manufacturing tolerances on the stability of the system. The effects of the dynamic viscosity variation caused by the temperature change, the manufacturing tolerances of the bearing length and the diameters of both the bearing and the journal are investigated base on Taguchi method. It shows that the different parameter tolerances influence the system stability in different ways, the tolerance of the bearing bush diameter, the tolerance of the journal diameter and their interaction influence the system stability most.
