Abstract :
In OFDM networks, inter-cell interference significantly degrades system performance. This paper investigates a dynamic fractional frequency reused proportional fair in time and frequency scheduling which considers fairness in time, frequency and user dimensions. The solution first allocates subcarriers by a centralized dynamic subcarrier partitioning algorithm to maximize long-term throughput performance while satisfying the rate constraints of users in each set of sectors. Then a decentralized proportional fair in time and frequency scheduling is applied in each cell independently to enhance system throughput while satisfying constraints on minimum rate and fairness of users based on the above fractional frequency reuse architecture. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method significantly improves system throughput in comparison to conventional fractional frequency reuse methods.
