Abstract :
A pulsed-power technology is used to develop a gas laser system. Blumlein generators, magnetic compression and capacitor-transfer type circuits, can be applicable as such power supplies. However, inductive energy storage pulsed-power generators can probably realize more lightweight, compact and high-power laser systems. Experiments of TEA-CO/sub 2/ laser oscillation were carried out using an inductive energy storage pulsed-power generator and an efficiency of laser oscillation of 3.9% was obtained and this was compared with the capacitor-transfer type method.
