Abstract :
Strong nonlinear effects of distortion of the orientation of the nematic liquid crystal (NLC) structure take place when a destabilizing magnetic field is applied. A method of resolution of nonlinear NLC equations is proposed. Some boundary-value problems for curvilinear regions are considered and criteria of stability of the NLC structure in a strong magnetic field are established. Effects of nonlinear angular oscillations are analyzed
