  • Abstract
In view of the overcrowding of the wireless spectrum, government regulators have specified "dynamic spectrum access" in which unlicensed users can share spectrum licensed to incumbents, so long as they do not interfere with the licensee\´s transmissions. This paper describes the issues involved in standardizing the 802.22 wireless regional area network to share TV broadcast spectrum, including coexistence among TV broadcasts, Part 74 wireless microphones, and 802.22 base stations with overlapping coverage.
