Abstract :
The present paper reports that a simple magnetic sensor employing a couple of differential coils contains amazing information identifying not only the kinds of metallic materials but also physical dimensions, i.e., cognizable to each of the distinct cans composed of the same or different metallic materials and similar size. This is discovered by combining the image cognition technology with conventional magnetic sensor signal processing. In the other words, this new fusion technology in conjunction with modern image processing and classical magnetic sensor technologies is one of the smart magnetic sensing systems.
