Abstract :
Summary form only given. Stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) is used widely for phase-conjugation of laser beams in systems consisting of a master oscillator and amplifier. However, in such case two laser are needed, which complicates considerably the assembly of an optical system as well as its use. It would be interest to investigate the possibility of formation of high quality radiation directly in a laser with a nonlinear mirror. We will report the results of an experimental investigations of an XeCl laser with cavity formed by a semitransparent output mirror and SBS medium. Electric-discharge laser with plane-plane cavity produced the radiation pulse with duration 120 ns (FWHM) and 100 nJ energy. The different optics schemes and SBS mediums were used in our experiments.
