Abstract :
Technology is the key enabler of knowledge management implementation. Although the implementation of technology has always been associated with organizational change, there are lack of insights on how knowledge management technology (KMT) influences the organizational change in particularly the institutional properties and human agents. This paper aims to describe the mutually influencing relationship between KMT and organizational changes through the lens of structuration theory. An interpretive case study was conducted on three organizations in oil and gas industry in Malaysia. The findings describe the adaptation of KMT by the human agents in the organizations and how the technology reshapes the human behavior in the organization.
