            Abstract :
At the University of California, Davis, we have introduced four major year-long design options for students that require students to design a system that meets given specifications with real-world cost constraints and performance requirements. The use of FPGA-based designs has proven to be the key to making it possible to complete these complex projects in the one-year time frame
