Abstract :
With increase in the development and distribution of software in DVD/CDs in recent times, the software piracy has become a tough problem affecting the authors of the software. Considering that the software in the DVD/CDs can be easily copied to other DVD/CDs, the piracy becomes easily possible. To address this issue, this paper proposes an approach avoiding the use of DVD/CDs and instead other devices in which piracy will not be possible. It proposes a new way of installing software and by using special thumb drives with two memories and a run once program. The two memory concept is used to separate some data from the computer. The RUN ONCE PROGRAM is used to ensure that only one initialization is made using a device. Code hiding methods like Code Obfuscation and data hiding methods like Steganography are used to ensure the data or code is not hacked. Point to Point algorithms are used to ensure that services are provided to the legal people alone and to track the activities of the users to check for any malicious activity.
