Abstract :
A device consisting of microstructured Permalloy ring and a control lead running through the center of the ring is demonstrated. The influence of Oersted field induced by current-carrying lead on the reversal is investigated by magnetoresistance measurement and micromagnetic simulation. Controllable switching field of HC1 and governable chirality of vortex state can be achieved by applying two orthogonal fields, nonuniform Oersted field and uniform field produced by electromagnet. In addition, the agreement between numerical and experiment results are also shown.
