Abstract
For the problem in the route discovery process of AOMDV route protocol: lacking congestion control leads to the inappropriate main path selected by source node in many cases, this paper proposes an improved protocol which is based on the traffic load and location information of the network. In the route discovery process, the relay node adopts a delay algorithm before broadcasting RREQ message. So the relatively idle node can be selected automatically to establish a new appropriate main path by adding congestion control. The simulation results show that the improved protocol reduces the rate of packet loss as well as end-to-end delay and increases the network´s overall resource utilization rate.
