Abstract :
This paper is concerned with the measurement of nonsinusoidal waveforms, in particular the use of waveform transforms in the calibration of power analyser instruments designed to make harmonic measurements to the requirements of the IEC standards on harmonics. The consequences of harmonics to electricity supply companies and users are considered. The paper then reviews the IEC standards regarding steady-state harmonics and fluctuating harmonics.
