Abstract :
LMS adaptive technique is a time-varying process that, inherently, suffers from sources of colored noise due to both the nature of the algorithm itself and the practical implementation constraints. Engineers have used to postulate white noise approximation for simplicity and tractability. In this paper, sources of colored noise are investigated in a Block LMS-like short-word length adaptive system. The performance of the filter is evaluated in terms of signal-to-noise ratio improvement.
