Abstract :
Summary form only given. High and fast optical nonlinearities of organic and organometallic materials are attracting considerable attention because of their potential uses in opto-electronic devices. We present the results of a study of the third-order optical nonlinearity of a series of new conjugated poly(silylenearylene)s, poly(aryleneethynylenesilylene)s, and metallocomplexes both in solution and in polymer matrices. The fine tuning of cubic nonlinear optical properties of the polymers was provided by introducing various organic groups and metals (Cr, Nd, Ni) into the polymers.
