Abstract :
In this paper we propose a new fast absorb flow control for interconnection networks. In existing flow control techniques, network resources are often allocated based on decision made at the routers or at the source nodes. The proposed fast absorb flow control allow resource allocation based on decision made at the message destination node. We give the background and motivation behind the proposed flow control. The description and analysis suggest that significant performance improvement can be achieved for large messages, and that fast absorb flow control is a potential for data stream applications.
