Abstract
In this paper, a fuzzy controller for Boost converter will be presented. The discontinuous conduction mode duty-cycle-to-output-voltage transfer function of Boost converter, usually obtained by average models, will be used to design the fuzzy controller. In this operation mode and with the qualitative description of Boost converter, the fuzzy controller is able to present a very satisfactory performance for operation points where the classical control techniques fail. The design procedures can be generalized and applied to any converter topology. The simulations are simple to perform and they validate the applied approach by presenting fast transient response, stability and good regulation for small and large variations in the converter parameters.
