Abstract :
The challenging task for watermarking algorithms is to ensure the robustness against wide range of attacks including geometrical manipulations. A number of algorithms try to overcome this problem using feature-based segmentation. Extracted feature points are bound to the image content. This set of points is used to divide the image into elementary patches, which are warped into a standard geometry ensuring the exact synchronization during insertion and extraction of the watermark. This paper proposes a new watermarking technique for data hiding in media signal operating in the frequency domain using content based image segmentation. Such watermarking technique may present additional advantages in terms of detection and recovery from geometric attacks compared to previous techniques.
