Abstract :
We describe the static and dynamic channel allocations from a combinatorial point of view which is based on users´ point of view and product spaces. In particular, we show the importance of state-position probabilities and their role in the modeling of users with different speed characteristics. We describe two queueing models and the analytical evaluation of the overload probability in the context of channel assignment. The paper is guided by a series of simulation results through which we propose a new channel allocation approach for high speed users in which case the probability of overload is analytically expressed
