Abstract :
Six computer assisted instruction modules are available on the Internet that provide tutorials and demonstrations for nonlinear circuit analysis and design. These modules introduce the student in a sequence to the concept of a nonlinear two terminal device (one port) and its analysis and of a nonlinear three terminal device (two port) and its analysis. In addition, through interactive, graphics driven animation, the user can be provided with experience in the design of circuits with these nonlinear devices. The specific devices presented to illustrate these concepts are the pn diode and the bipolar junction transistor; there are three modules available for each. These modules are available on the Internet, either by anonymous FTP or through the auspices of NEEDS, the National Engineering Education Delivery System, being developed by the NSF SYNTHESIS Engineering Education Coalition
