Abstract
We demonstrate that an unobtrusive wristband with embedded textile capacitive sensors can provide reliable information about complex hand motions. We describe the design considerations resulting from FEM field simulations and the actual hardware design. We then show example signals from different motions and present a quantitative evaluation on the recognition of 10 digits and 26 letters that users ”write in the air”.
