Abstract :
In this paper, a low-cost compact microstrip band-notch ultra wideband (UWB) antenna is designed and presented. To create such band notch in microstrip UWB antenna for the rejection of interference at the WLAN band (5.1GHz to 5.8GHz), a U-shaped slot is etched in the radiating patch. The performance characteristic of the antenna is simulated by CST Microwave Studio and the simulation results show that the presented antenna can achieve a wide bandwidth with band notch characteristics and satisfactory radiation properties.
