Abstract :
The semiconductor industry is starting to approach a pure publisher/content business model. The much vaunted "intellectual property" semiconductor startup is falling into two buckets: commodity IP and architectural IP. While the fab/fabless business model debate underlay the last 10 years, the foreseeable future for semiconductor startups will be driven by the commodity IP/architectural IP debate.
